Privacy Policy
Effective 3 October 2026
Jina Code Systems LLP ("we", "us") makes the Kashiwala app ("the App") for the Shri Parasnath Ji Mandir at Kashiwala. This policy explains what information the App collects, why, where it is kept, and how you can delete it.
In short: you can use the App without giving us your name, phone number or email. We don't sell your data, show ads, or take payments in the App. You can delete your account from Settings at any time, and we permanently erase it within 30 days.
1. Information we collect
Your account
- When you first open the App we create a guest account tied to an identifier for your device. No phone number or email is needed.
- If you choose Save your progress with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address and an account identifier from that provider. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive a relay address instead.
- Optional profile details you choose to add, such as your name, salutation, gender, date of birth, occupation, address and a profile photo.
- Your language and notification preferences.
Your devotional activity
- Jap (chanting) sessions and counts, and sankalp entries, so the App can show your progress and keep it across devices.
- Which chapters of the Story of Kashiwala you have read. This stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Device, notifications and diagnostics
- A push-notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send the notifications you have turned on.
- Basic device information, such as model, operating system and app version, used for notifications, update checks and fixing problems.
- Usage events, such as screens opened, through Google Firebase Analytics, and crash reports through Firebase Crashlytics.
Permissions the App may ask for
- Notifications: to send daily darshan, festival and reminder alerts. You can turn each kind off in Settings → Notifications.
- Photos or camera: only if you choose a profile photo. The photo you pick is uploaded to our server.
- Microphone and speech recognition: only if you use the chant-along feature, which follows your chanting and highlights each word. Speech is processed by your phone's speech-recognition service from Apple or Google, which may process it on their servers. Kashiwala does not record, store or upload your audio.
Videos
Darshan and aarti videos are hosted on YouTube and play in YouTube's embedded player. When you watch them, YouTube (Google) may collect information under Google's Privacy Policy.
2. How we use it
- To run the App's features and keep your progress in sync.
- To send the notifications you have chosen. We cap these at three a day and respect quiet hours.
- To understand which features help people and to fix crashes and bugs.
- To keep the App secure and to meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, use it for advertising, or show ads.
3. Who we share it with
Only with service providers that help us run the App, and only for that purpose:
- Google Cloud: hosts our servers and database.
- Google Firebase: push notifications, analytics and crash reporting.
- Google or Apple: only if you sign in with them to save your progress.
- YouTube: when you play a video.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users or the service.
4. Where it is stored and how it is protected
Our servers run on Google Cloud in the United States, so your information is transferred outside India. Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), and Google Cloud encrypts the stored data at rest. Access to our servers is limited to the people who operate the App.
5. How long we keep it, and deleting your account
- We keep your information while your account is active.
- You can delete your account at any time in the App: Settings → Delete Account. Your account is deactivated immediately, and your personal data and activity are permanently erased within 30 days.
- You can also ask us to delete your account by emailing hello@attention.sh from the email address linked to it, or by telling us your account details.
- Data kept on your device, such as cached darshan and story text, is removed when you uninstall the App.
- We may keep aggregated statistics that cannot identify you.
6. Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and similar laws, you can:
- see and correct your profile in the App;
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- delete your account and data, as described above;
- turn off notifications and other optional features;
- raise a concern with us, and, if it isn't resolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.
To make any request, email hello@attention.sh.
7. Children
The App is made for families. If you are under 18, please use it with the permission of a parent or guardian. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children without that consent. If you think a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes, we will tell you in the App before they take effect. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
